The Highland Baptist Christian Bears started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against the Centerville Bulldogs. They took a hard 36-20 fall against the Bulldogs on Friday. That makes it the first time this season Highland Baptist Christian has let down their home crowd.
Centerville had a senior duo take command as Jamari Ayrow rushed for 270 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries and Bryson Thomas rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Thomas' longest rush was for an incredible 72 yards.
Another reason for the win was Centerville's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Ayrow and his two sacks.
Highland Baptist Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Centerville, their win bumped their record up to 5-4.
Highland Baptist Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Centerville also has no future games currently scheduled.
