Loudoun County managed to keep up with Briar Woods until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Loudoun County Captains lost 68-42 to the Briar Woods Falcons. The Captains' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Briar Woods' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nick Donatella led the charge by going 5 of 10 on his way to 15 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Fraim, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 14 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Loudoun County fell to 3-1. As for Briar Woods, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Loudoun County and Stone Bridge will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Stone Bridge has won three straight at home, while Loudoun County won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Briar Woods, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 63-58 loss against Tuscarora on the 13th.
