Basketball Recap: Eastern Tech Drops Highest Score of Season Against GVCS Broadfording

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eastern Tech). They were the clear victor by an 85-60 margin over the GVCS Broadfording Lions on Saturday. The Mavericks pushed the score to 64-42 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions had little chance of recovering from.

Eastern Tech's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jericho Wondeye, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Foley, who went 8 for 20 on his way to 21 points and eight steals.

Eastern Tech was working as a unit and finished the game with 29 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nashon Mann, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Cartwright, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points and eight rebounds.

Eastern Tech's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for GVCS Broadfording, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastern Tech will welcome Carver A&T at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for GVCS Broadfording, they will take on Cumberland Valley Christian at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.
