After soaring high against Poland last Friday, Icarus fell to the ground on Saturday. Mountain Valley fell to Lisbon/St. Dominic 12-20. The matchup was a 6-6 toss-up at halftime, but Mountain Valley were outplayed the rest of the way.
Mountain Valley's defeat came about despite a quality game from junior Dylan Desroches, who picked up 65 yards on the ground and accumulated 108 passing yards. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse junior Matt Brown, who racked up 13 tackles.
The loss dropped Mountain Valley back to even at 1-1. The win bumped Lisbon/St. Dominic's record up to 2-0.
Mountain Valley will look to defend their home turf next week against Oak Hill at 7:00 PM. Lisbon/St. Dominic will stay at home against Spruce Mountain at 1:30 PM.
