The Waxahachie Indians will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Cedar Hill Longhorns at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Waxahachie's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matches.
Even though Skyline scored an imposing 59 points on Friday, Waxahachie still came out on top. Waxahachie simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Skyline 90-59 at home. That 31 points margin sets a new team best for Waxahachie this season.
King Grace was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with two steals. He hasn't dropped below 15points for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Parker Jefferson, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Cedar Hill's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost to Lake Ridge at home by a decisive 80-66 margin. While losing is never fun, Cedar Hill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while Lake Ridge is ranked eighth).
Waxahachie is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for Cedar Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 18-9.
Waxahachie strolled past Cedar Hill in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 64-48. Does Waxahachie have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cedar Hill turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
