It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Creekside Knights can now relate to. They took a 49-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ponte Vedra on Friday. Creekside's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why Creekside lost, one person who can't be blamed is Harrison Garrido. Despite the final result, he rushed for 231 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. Sean Ashenfelder was another major influence, as he rushed for 13 yards and ran in a TD.
Ponte Vedra got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brian Case out in front who rushed for 175 yards and three touchdowns. Landon Okla was in the mix as well, providing Ponte Vedra with three touchdowns.
Creekside's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Ponte Vedra, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.
Creekside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ponte Vedra will head out on the road to face off against Buchholz at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Buchholz has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 253 points over their last six contests.
