Basketball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Sage Creek's Third in Last Four Outings

Sage Creek picked up another tournament win on Thursday. They walked away with a 63-50 win over the Dobson Mustangs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bobcats.

Elijah Stephens continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 26 points and six rebounds. He has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last 26 times he's played. Vaughn Young was another key player, posting 13 points.

When it comes to explaining why Dobson lost, don't look at Tremaine Turner. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 8 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Acereto, who posted nine points.

Sage Creek has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points per game. As for Dobson, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-5.

Sage Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 76-60 victory against Coconino on the 3rd. As for Dobson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-56 defeat against Paradise Valley on the 3rd.
