Kingswood Oxford is 7-2 against Taft School since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Wyverns will be playing in front of their home fans against the Big Red at 3:30 p.m. Kingswood Oxford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Kingswood Oxford is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Connecticut's top teams: Avon Old Farms, who was ranked fifth at the time (Kingswood Oxford was ranked eighth). The Wyverns fell just short of the Beavers by a score of 4-2 on Monday. The Wyverns' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Kingswood Oxford saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tommy Caporaso, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Taft School sidestepped Hotchkiss School for a 6-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Big Red.

Taft School also got a great performance from Evan Douglas as he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, Cayden Van Dolah and Parker Woods did most of the damage at the plate: Van Dolah went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Woods went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Van Dolah has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Kingswood Oxford's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Taft School, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Kingswood Oxford beat Taft School 5-2 when the teams last played back in March. Will the Wyverns repeat their success, or do the Big Red have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
