After a string of five wins, the Rosman Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They received a tough blow as they fell 58-39 to Mountain Heritage. Rosman has not had much luck with Mountain Heritage recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Rosman lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alissa Cheek. Despite the final result, she scored 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Powell (sykes), who scored six points.
Vega Deyton continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mountain Heritage, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Deyton scored 15 or more points. Keira Wilson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Rosman's defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-2. As for Mountain Heritage, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
Rosman and Asheville will round out the year against one another at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at. Hopefully Asheville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Friday. Mountain Heritage will be home for the holidays to greet West Henderson at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Henderson has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
