Even though the Mountain View Thunder have not done well against the Washougal Panthers recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Mountain View put the hurt on Washougal with a sharp 58-33 victory. With that win, Mountain View brought their scoring average up to 52.5 points per game.
Mountain View can attribute much of their success to Nina Peterson, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 10 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Peterson has scored at least 25% of Mountain View's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Camaria Brown, who scored 10 points along with 6 steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Mountain View and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Washougal, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain View will challenge Union at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Washougal won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Tumwater at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st.
