Basketball Recap: Deer Park Piles Up the Points Against Clear Falls

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Deer Park on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Clear Falls Knights out of the water with a 57-30 final score. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 44-36 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Deer Park to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alyssa Harms, who went 5 of 10 en route to 15 points in addition to five assists and four steals. Harms has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. Shelby Tortorici was another key player, putting up 15 points and three steals.

Harms wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Deer Park was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clear Falls only racked up five assists.

Despite the loss, Clear Falls still got an impressive performance from Alison Smith, who posted eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyndall King, who had eight points and 13 boards.

Deer Park is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-13 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Clear Falls, they dropped their record down to 9-16 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Deer Park will head out to face off against Clear Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clear Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Deer Park likes a good challenge. As for Clear Falls, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Brazoswood at 7:00 p.m. Clear Falls is facing Brazoswood at the right time seeing as Brazoswood is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
