The Logan Longhorns will challenge the Magdalena Steers at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
On Friday, Logan made easy work of Cimarron and carried off a 13-3 win. The Longhorns might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.
Kale Griffiths spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up a single walk in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Logan got a massive performance out of Mason Wallin, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Wallin has become a key player for the Longhorns: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Mitchell Wall, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Logan lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Magdalena played against Grady on Friday and won via forfeit.
For Magdalena's part, Ayden Herschbach was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-2. Those four RBI gave Herschbach a new career-high. Mathew Lopez was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
The victory (which was Magdalena's 12th in a row) raised their record to 15-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.2 runs over those games. As for Logan, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Logan hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .372. However, it's not like Magdalena struggles in that department as they've averaged .398. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Logan might still be hurting after the 15-2 defeat they got from Magdalena in their previous matchup last Friday. Will the Longhorns have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
