Wapahani and Frankton are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Wapahani comes in on seven and Frankton on three.
On Tuesday, Wapahani earned a 7-2 win over Hagerstown.
Wapahani got a great performance from Kyle Anderson as he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits.
At the plate, Eli Andrews was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Nate Luce, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Frankton won against Elwood on Thursday with 16 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Eagles beat Eastbrook by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 16-6. Considering the Eagles have won four games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Frankton got a massive performance out of Brady Carmack, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave Carmack a new career-high. Caine Oakley was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.
Frankton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in six consecutive matchups.
Wapahani pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Frankton, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Wapahani hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .367. However, it's not like Frankton struggles in that department as they've averaged .364. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Wapahani couldn't quite get it done against Frankton in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 6-3. Will the Raiders have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
