Interlake dropped their record down to 12-7 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Inglemoor Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 24-2 on April 2nd.
Wyatt Tang was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Brady Didrickson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
As for Inglemoor, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games.
On Inglemoor's side, Cooper Richter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Those eight strikeouts gave Richter a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
In other pitching news, Brody Ledger looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Jeffery Myhre and Connor Dowell did most of the damage at the plate: Myhre got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Dowell went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Myhre has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Benjamin Barnes was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Interlake wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 19-0 win against Renton on the 25th. As for Inglemoor, they have also already played their next contest, a 4-2 victory against Redmond on the 25th.
