Boyertown and Methacton are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Boyertown is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
Boyertown blew Perkiomen Valley out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Perkiomen Valley got their revenge. The Bears wound up with the same score they had in their last game (7-5), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since March 18th.
Jenna Fox was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Lindsay Mathias, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one double.
Methacton let Upper Perkiomen stack four runs on them in the fourth inning on Monday but luckily Methacton prevailed anyway. The Warriors skirted past the Indians 7-5. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won four in a row.
Sadie Fitch was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played.
In other batting news, Sydney Hockenbrock was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlin Pettine, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Methacton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Upper Perkiomen only posted a batting average of .115.
Methacton's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Boyertown, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7.
