After having lost a blowout in their previous game against University City, the Affton Cougars were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 64-25 victory over Jennings at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-14.
It was another big night for Amelia Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that she pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Anna M daughtry, who scored 12 points along with eight steals.
Affton pushed their record up to 3-4 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Jennings, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Affton won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Bayless at 6:00 p.m. on December 13th. Jennings will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on McCluer North at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
