River Ridge is 2-8 against Anclote since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The River Ridge Royal Knights' homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Anclote Sharks at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully River Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday.
Last Friday, River Ridge slipped by Gulf 47-46.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead River Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dareal KING, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points KING has scored all season. Another player making a difference was JONATHAN CASAREZ, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Anclote suffered their biggest loss since November 30, 2023 on Thursday. They were outmatched by Mitchell at home and fell 71-44. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Anclote in their matchups with Mitchell: they've now lost six in a row.
The losing side was boosted by Mekhi Brown, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Linden James, who scored ten points.
River Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Anclote, their loss was their ninth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-10.
Everything came up roses for River Ridge against Anclote in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 70-30 victory. With River Ridge ahead 49-13 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
