Montrose added to the longest winning streak in 4A/5A Southwest this week by beating Denver South, 47-27. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Indians.
Montrose took down the Rebels 47-27 last week, the largest margin of any game. Angelo Youngren threw for 25 yards and 1 touchdown, ran for 122 yards and caught 1 pass for 31 yards during the win.
Grand Junction's TYLER HEINSMA and THERON VERNA led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback HEINSMA has thrown for 1,729 yards this season, while VERNA has 29 catches for 540 yards. Todd Casebier's team's Mike Rocha leads the league in rushing yards with 1,440.
The Indians led the league in scoring this week after putting up 47 points on Denver South. Youngren ran for 122 yards and caught 1 pass for 31 yards in the win.
