The Miller Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 48-10 loss at the hands of Point Pleasant. While losing is never fun, Miller can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 682nd in Ohio, while Point Pleasant is ranked 322nd in West Virginia).
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Miller struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Point Pleasant pulled down 15.
Point Pleasant can attribute much of their success to Olivia Fields, who scored 10 points along with 6 steals and 5 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendal Connolly, who scored 8 points.
Miller's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-5. As for Point Pleasant, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Miller will take on Wellington School at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wellington School will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. As for Point Pleasant, they will be playing at home against Scott at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Scott focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
