Fontainebleau is 1-9 against the Tigers since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Fontainebleau Bulldogs are on the road again and plays the Slidell Tigers at 7:15 p.m. on February 6th. Fontainebleau will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Tigers are ranked 44th).
Fontainebleau pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a tough 82-59 loss at the hands of Ponchatoula. Fontainebleau has not had much luck with the Green Wave recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Pine typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Slidell proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 54-42 victory over the Raiders. The win made it back-to-back wins for Slidell.
Grant Bonnaffons and Mike Parlow were among the main playmakers for Slidell as the former scored 15 points along with two steals and the latter scored 17 points along with six steals. Parlow is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Hookfin, who scored four points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Fontainebleau has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season. As for Slidell, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-8.
Fontainebleau came up short against the Tigers when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 67-61. Can Fontainebleau avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
