Bullitt East is a perfect 3-0 against Atherton since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Chargers will challenge the Ravens at 5:00 p.m. Bullitt East is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
Bullitt East took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against South Oldham, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Chargers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Dragons on Saturday.

Mackenzie Mingus made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over 5.1 innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Courtney Bass, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-3. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Mollie Johnston was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Bullitt East lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April.
Meanwhile, Atherton fell victim to Nelson County and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 1-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Ravens haven't been shut out since back in April.
Bullitt East has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Atherton, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.
Atherton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bullitt East has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .473. It's a different story for Atherton, though, as they've only averaged .351. Will they be able to contain Bullitt East's hitters?
Bullitt East took their victory against Atherton in their previous meeting back in May of 2017 by a conclusive 7-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
