Triad has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the West Liberty-Salem Tigers at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday. Triad will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 614th, while the Tigers are ranked 141st).
Even though Triad has not done well against the Rams recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Triad sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 38-36 win over the Rams. The score was all tied up 17-17 at the break, but Triad was the better team in the second half.
Mia LeMay continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring six points along with 11 rebounds and five blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Abbey Overfield, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, West Liberty-Salem strolled past the Pioneers with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 53-37.
Triad's record is now 7-13. West Liberty-Salem's record now sits at 16-3.
Triad was dealt a bruising 61-30 loss at the hands of the Tigers in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Triad was down 37-17.
