The Bangor Slaters won the last time they faced the Pen Argyl Green Knights, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Bangor took down Pen Argyl 47-31. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Bangor has managed all season.
Pen Argyl's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Kennedy, who scored ten points along with four steals. Kennedy has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Soos, who scored ten points.
Pen Argyl struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Bangor pushed their record up to 5-4 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Pen Argyl, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bangor will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wilson Area at 6:45 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Pen Argyl will be home for the holidays to greet Lehighton at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
