The Gulf Coast Sharks will head out on the road to face off against the Riverview Sarasota Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Gulf Coast is looking to tack on another W to their 11-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Gulf Coast has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 68-3 victory over East Lee County on the road. That 68-3 margin sets a new team best for Gulf Coast this season.
It was another big night for Alex Mcdonough, who scored ten points along with six assists and five rebounds. She hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Fitzgerald, who scored four points along with eight assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, Riverview Sarasota unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. Their rough 78-57 defeat to Seffner Christian might stick with them for a while. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Gulf Coast's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Riverview Sarasota, their loss dropped their record down to 9-1.
Gulf Coast came up short against Riverview Sarasota when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 58-50. Can Gulf Coast avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
