Temple had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2025.
Brenna Thomas was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Thomas was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one double.
Thomas wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ava Machuca, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Temple now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Copperas Cove, their loss dropped their record down to 16-9.
