Florala's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for Kinston, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 11-4 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Florala beat the Bulldogs by a score of 5-0 later that day.
