Softball Recap: Community Makes It Nine in a Row at Home

Community never got on the board in their matchup last Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Eagleville on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Eagles. The Vikings/Viqueens might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.

Alana Tate was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Gracie Daniel was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4.

Community pushed their record up to 12-2-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Eagleville, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Looking ahead, Community will be taking part in a tournament against Wicksburg at 12:15 p.m. on Monday. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Summertown's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Eagleville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
