Basketball Recap: Baldwin Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Baldwin proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 35) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged the Burlington Wildcats out 31-28. The win was just business as usual for the Bulldogs, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Baldwin can attribute much of their success to Lauren Berg, who went 5 for 7 on her way to 10 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Searl, who posted five points and six rebounds.

Baldwin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Burlington's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Mac Medlock, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards, and Alexa Splechter, who put up 11 points. Splechter is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Baldwin's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Burlington, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Baldwin will venture away from home to take on Louisburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Burlington, they will head out on the road to face off against Iola at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
