Baseball Recap: Uxbridge's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

Uxbridge dropped their record down to 11-3 on Friday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grafton Gators. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gators apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

As for Grafton, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

For Grafton's part, James Tindall looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off six hits. Tindall has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Finn Gilmore was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ryan Chagnon, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Uxbridge will face off against Tantasqua Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The last five games the Warriors have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Grafton, they will square off against Leicester at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
