The Bainbridge Bearcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Hardaway 70-31. Bainbridge has struggled against the Hawks recently, as their contest on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Bainbridge's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ahleah Jones, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyra Green, who scored six points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Bainbridge struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Hardaway racked up 18 assists.
Akilah Shelton was her usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with seven rebounds and six steals for Hardaway. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shelton has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jenaiya Hardy, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Bainbridge dropped their record down to 7-16 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Hardaway, the win was the 18th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-4.
Bainbridge will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Early County will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Hardaway does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
