Basketball Recap: Tohatchi Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Tohatchi waltzed into their match on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Wingate Bears 61-37. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season.

Wingate's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Morning Sky Iron Moccasin, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhianna Begay, who put up seven points.

Tohatchi pushed their record up to 15-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Wingate, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tohatchi will venture away from home to challenge Zuni at 7:00 p.m. on February 20th. As for Wingate, they will head out on the road to square off against Thoreau at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
