Belfast has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were beaten by Oceanside 83-31 on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Belfast can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Oceanside is ranked second).
Erskine Academy now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Belfast, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season.
Erskine Academy beat Belfast 36-27 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Erskine Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
