Superior and Mogollon squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Superior had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Mustangs, falling 72-30. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Superior still got an impressive performance from Antonio Lopez, who threw for 331 yards and four touchdowns. Lopez's passing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 315 passing yards.
Mogollon found their leader in sophomore Jett Reidhead, who rushed for 145 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 200 yards and three touchdowns on only nine passes. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Porter, who gained 76 total yards and two touchdowns.
Superior's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Mogollon, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
