Giles had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Eastern Montgomery Mustangs as the Giles Spartans made off with an 8-2 win. Addie Lowry made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Lowry was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Lowry wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Addisyn Vanderpool, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Kylee Snider was another, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.
Giles was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastern Montgomery only posted a batting average of .227.
