The St. Catherine's Saints lost against the Steward Spartans back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The New Year welcomed St. Catherine's with a 53-24 whooping from Steward. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points St. Catherine's has scored all season.
Leading Steward to victory were Ava Johnson and Sanai Green. Johnson scored 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Green dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Green has scored at least 25% of Steward's points. Another player making a difference was Tori West, who scored seven points along with three steals.
St. Catherine's has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Steward, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.
St. Catherine's will head out on the road to face off against St. Margaret's at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Steward, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Virginia Academy at 6:00 p.m.
