Payne Tech is 0-4 against Glen Ridge since April of 2023 but things could change on Monday. The Lions will face off against the Ridgers at 4:00 p.m. Glen Ridge took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Payne Tech, who comes in off a win.
On Wednesday, Payne Tech made easy work of Belleville and carried off a 12-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won six contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Leilani Oyola was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Oyola was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Olivia Mendez and Marisela Sanabria did most of the damage at the plate: Mendez got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs and two doubles, while Sanabria went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most doubles Mendez has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ayliana Hernandez, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Glen Ridge was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They fell 5-2 to Montclair. The Ridgers have struggled against the Mounties recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Glen Ridge saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Siri ?Socks? Krabbe, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
The win made it two in a row for Payne Tech and bumps their season record up to 6-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Glen Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Payne Tech's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's match. The Lions have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Glen Ridge, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Payne Tech continue to outrun the ball?
Payne Tech couldn't quite finish off Glen Ridge in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
