If the Whale Branch Warriors were feeling good off their 69-30 takedown of the Royal Live Oaks Academy Royal Knights last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Whale Branch took a 43-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bridges Prep. Whale Branch was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bridges Prep apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Whale Branch's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laron Wright, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Kevin Jenkins was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 15 rebounds.
Bridges Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was A Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wilson has scored at least a third of Bridges Prep's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Te'shaun Heyward, who scored six points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
Whale Branch's loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Bridges Prep, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-4.
Whale Branch does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bridges Prep also has no future games currently scheduled.
