The Reagan Rattlers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Brandeis 39-7 on the road. Given Reagan's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while Brandeis is ranked 373rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Brad Jackson, who threw for 247 yards and three touchdowns while completing 74.2% of his passes, and also rushed for 90 yards on only eight carries. Caleb Cappuccio was another key contributor, picking up 108 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Reagan, racking up 13 points in total. All those points came courtesy of Jonathon Leos: he added nine points with three field goals, and another four kicking extra points.
Reagan pushed their record up to 11-0 with that win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.0 points per game. As for Brandeis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-6.
Reagan will be playing at home against East Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Central is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Brandeis, they will head out on the road to face off against Steele at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Steele's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
