When it comes to explaining why Medicine Valley lost on Monday, one person who can't be blamed is Stella Heapy. Despite the final result, she scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Heapy hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Remmi Stout, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Bertrand got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brooklyn Evans out in front who scored 16 points along with four steals. That's the first time this season that Evans scored 15 or more points. Addison Andersen was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Medicine Valley has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Bertrand, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.
Medicine Valley will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Mullen at 5:30 p.m. Bertrand on the road again on Tuesday and play against Cambridge at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Cambridge will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
