Southeast Halifax and Northwest Halifax are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Southeast Halifax Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Northwest Halifax Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. After the pair made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky.
Southeast Halifax's eight-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 51-26 margin over Rocky Mount Prep. The victory was just what Southeast Halifax needed coming off of a 59-37 defeat in their prior game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southeast Halifax to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kemorriya Evans, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Evans hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Myrecle Harrison was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Northwest Halifax can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Weldon as Northwest Halifax made off with a 55-35 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Northwest Halifax has posted since December 5, 2023.
Camaya Adkins continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 30 points. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Northwest Halifax's points. Another player making a difference was Aleigha Allen, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds.
Southeast Halifax's victory bumped their record up to 2-12. As for Northwest Halifax, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
Southeast Halifax was taken down by Northwest Halifax 60-18 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Southeast Halifax was down 39-8.
