Softball Recap: J.P. Mccaskey Drops Season-High Score on Cedar Crest

J.P. McCaskey scored the most runs they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Cedar Crest Falcons by a score of 21-20. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

J.P. McCaskey got a massive performance out of Alayah Gartman, who went 4-for-5 with five stolen bases, five runs, and three RBI. Gartman is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sanya Mumma, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

J.P. McCaskey's defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Cedar Crest, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. J.P. McCaskey will square off against Muhlenberg at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Cedar Crest, they will challenge Northern Lebanon at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight.
