The Boyd Anderson Cobras suffered their biggest defeat since December 13, 2023 on Tuesday. Their tough 79-59 loss to Western might stick with them for a while. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Boyd Anderson lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaydan Silvera, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Glaze, who scored 14 points along with two blocks.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Western to victory, but perhaps none more so than Stefan Frisby, who almost dropped a triple-double on 14 points, ten rebounds, and nine assists. That's the first time this season that Frisby pulled down eight or more rebounds. Maddox Fowles was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Boyd Anderson bumped their record down to 8-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Western, their victory bumped their record up to 14-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boyd Anderson will take on Deerfield Beach at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Deerfield Beach has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8. As for Western, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Somerset Prep at 7:30 p.m. Somerset Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 583rd, while Western is ranked 80th).
