It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Godley Wildcats can now relate to. They were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 35-34 to Sweetwater. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (31), Godley still had to take the loss.

Perhaps the best among them was Adam Pempsell, who rushed for 183 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. Pempsell has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last four times he's played. Wyatt Burke also helped out as he racked up 146 rushing yards.
Sweetwater's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Korda Moore, who rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns. Caiden Ortiz was another key player, having thrown for 269 yards and two touchdowns.
Godley now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Sweetwater, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.
Godley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sweetwater will head out on the road to face off against Monahans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Monahans will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
