Baseball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for South Choctaw Academy

South Choctaw Academy won against Escambia Academy on Tuesday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The South Choctaw Academy Rebels beat the Escambia Academy Cougars by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 13-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-3 on Tuesday.

JT Railey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in February of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

In other batting news, Till Cox was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jack Johnson, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The victory made it two in a row for South Choctaw Academy and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10 runs. As for Escambia Academy, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

South Choctaw Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Lakeside School at 11:15 a.m. on March 8th. As for Escambia Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Central Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
