Incarnate Word Academy owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They blew past the Geneva Eagles 9-0. Considering the Angels have won 16 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Arisela Perez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Harper Phillips, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kam Bean, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

The win made it two in a row for Incarnate Word Academy and bumps their season record up to 21-3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Geneva, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Incarnate Word Academy will take on Moulton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Geneva, they will head out to face off against New Braunfels Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
