The Geneva Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Florala Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Florala took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Geneva, who comes in off a win.
Last Monday, Geneva didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Carroll, but they still walked away with a 46-40 victory.
Geneva got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Erica Torres out in front who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kaden Ward, who scored 8 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Florala came up short against Straughn on Tuesday and fell 44-36. Florala has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ponce De Leon's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Geneva's defeat dropped theirs to 1-2.
Everything came up roses for Geneva against Florala in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 64-28 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Geneva since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
