Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Central Raiders, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a serious blow against Cair Paravel on Friday, falling 76-30. Central's defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jace Wunderlich, who threw for 166 yards and two touchdowns.
Central's defeat dropped their record down to 9-1. As for Cair Paravel, their victory was their third straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 8-2.
Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cair Paravel will face off against Chase County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Brock Griffin and Jesiah Bonura.
