The Atholton Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Howard by a score of 64-62. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Wednesday (58), Atholton still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Atholton still got an impressive performance from Deion Dent, who scored 22 points. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. Amir Shaheed was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with three steals.
Even though they lost, Atholton were working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Atholton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Howard, their win was their third straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-3.
Atholton will be home for the holidays to greet Meade at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meade has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 197 points over their last three games. Howard will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Winters Mill at 8:30 p.m. on December 27th.
