Jerome Smith (Spanky) was nothing short of spectacular: he picked up 123 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 47 yards and one score. He didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made five total tackles in addition to snagging an interception. Lequand (Jack Jack) Jackson was another key player, throwing for 184 yards and one TD.
Another reason for the win was Upland's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Nathan Edmonds was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.
