The Shields Panthers pushed their score all the way to 62 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 63-62 to Pleasant Home. Even though they lost, Shields' still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.4 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cantangelo Hicks, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. Adrian Watts was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 13 rebounds and five assists.
This is the second loss in a row for Shields and nudges their season record down to 7-7. As for Pleasant Home, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home.
Shields will take on Clarke County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pleasant Home, they will head out on the road to face off against Red Level at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Red Level focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
